Forestry & Agricultural Infrastructure
Pelham’s rural roads can be transformed into forested corridors, creating shaded, biodiverse “cathedrals” that define the landscape and support ecological health. These corridors can be used to screen all new greenhouse development in the clay belt, ensuring that Pelham’s agricultural vistas remain intact even as intensive food production expands behind the tree line.
Urban neighbourhoods can be gradually converted into urban micro-forests, improving shade, air quality, stormwater absorption, and neighbourhood character. A total of $10 million in grants is available for these express purposes.
